Merri Creek Commission Testimonial

My mother's 60th birthday was on the horizon, and I had been thinking about looking into a commission piece for her present. I reached out to Simon after falling upon his series "A Shared Path", a solo exhibition of watercolour paintings that follow the trails along Melbourne’s Yarra River and Merri Creek. My family (mum specifically) love this area, and Simon's style was exactly what I had been imagining- full of colour, movement, light and life.

Soon after I emailed Simon, he got back to me with a very clear outline of what it would look like to have a commission piece created. It was easy for me to see that Simon was professional, whilst also having a deep passion for his art. Throughout communications with Simon I felt at ease- he was excellent to communicate with, attending to any queries I had in a very timely manner, whilst also assisting me in transforming the image I had in my mind into a perfect composition.

And then WOW- the artwork Simon created was above and beyond my expectations. Just amazing- absolutely perfect. Simon offered to frame the piece however, I wanted to complete this process myself, so Simon provided me with framing options and recommendations. I was so excited to gift it to my mother for her birthday. I wish I could have a photo of her reaction upon receiving this gift- she was just amazed at both the image, how well it represented our life and a moment in time, as well as the artistry itself. This artwork is now the centrepiece I cannot recommend Simon enough!
